Quality & Standards
Precision specifications, independently verified
DIN SPEC 91529 : 2026-05
The first standardized specification for precision cast aluminum plates
For decades, precision cast aluminum plates had no standardized quality specification. Buyers relied on manufacturer datasheets, and no independent benchmark existed for comparing material from different suppliers. That changed in May 2026 with the publication of DIN SPEC 91529 by DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V.
DIN SPEC 91529 establishes minimum requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensional tolerances, flatness, surface finish, and inspection traceability for sawn and milled cast aluminum plates. Buyers can now specify and verify material against an objective published standard.
GLEICH Aluminiumwerk GmbH & Co. KG was one of the consortium members that developed this specification. G.AL® plates are produced in conformance with DIN SPEC 91529.

About DIN
DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) is Germany's national standards organization, headquartered in Berlin, and Germany's representative in the European CEN and the International ISO and IEC. DIN SPEC 91529 was published under DIN's PAS procedure by a manufacturer consortium. View DIN SPEC 91529 on DIN Media →
What DIN SPEC 91529 defines
- Chemical composition per DIN EN 573-3
- Minimum mechanical properties (tensile, yield, elongation, hardness)
- Dimensional tolerances (length, width, thickness)
- Flatness tolerance and surface roughness
- Inspection and traceability requirements (EN 10204)
Minimum mechanical properties (per DIN SPEC 91529, Annex A)
EN AW-5083 / O3 (C250, C210R)
EN AW-7021 / T79 (C330R)
Flatness (milled plate, >15 mm): ≤0.15 mm/m, Ra ≤0.4 µm
Developed in cooperation with: alimex GmbH, AMAG rolling GmbH, Constellium Switzerland AG, HABA AG, Kastens & Knauer GmbH & Co. KG, and Wirtschaftsverband Großhandel Metallhalbzeug e. V. (WGM).
Quality documentation
What comes with every G.AL® plate
Inspection Certificate
Every G.AL® plate ships with an EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificate, issued by the manufacturer's own inspection authority. It documents chemical composition, mechanical properties, and lot traceability for each slab.
Quality Management System
All G.AL® plates are manufactured by GLEICH Aluminiumwerk GmbH & Co. KG under DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management. The ISO 9001 certification is held by the manufacturing entity in Germany.
ISO 9001 certification is held by GLEICH Aluminiumwerk GmbH & Co. KG, Germany. GLEICH Aluminum Canada Inc. is an authorized distributor of G.AL® products and does not independently hold this certification.
What Comes With Every Order
How G.AL® Plates Are Made
G.AL® aluminum cast plates are manufactured by GLEICH Aluminiumwerk GmbH & Co. KG in Germany using a proprietary casting and heat treatment process developed over more than 40 years.
The process begins with premium aluminum slabs sourced exclusively from certified EU suppliers. These are cast using GLEICH's proprietary method, then subjected to precision heat treatment in electronically controlled, computer-monitored furnaces.
The result is a plate with exceptionally low internal stress, superior flatness, and uniform mechanical properties throughout, meeting the requirements of DIN SPEC 91529 and verified by EN 10204 3.1 inspection certificates.
Certificate Scope and Standards
DIN SPEC 91529 : 2026-05
DIN SPEC 91529 is a publicly available specification developed under DIN's PAS (Publicly Available Specification) procedure by a consortium of cast aluminum plate manufacturers and the WGM e.V. industry association. It is not a full DIN Norm (it is not part of the German Normenwerk), but it is published and distributed by DIN and carries the same technical rigor as a manufacturer-consortium standard.
G.AL® plates are produced in conformance with DIN SPEC 91529. The specification is available for download from DIN at dinmedia.de.
EN 10204 3.1 Inspection Certificate
An EN 10204 3.1 certificate is issued by the manufacturer's own inspection authority, independent of the production department, and validates that the supplied material meets the order specification. It documents:
- Chemical composition (spectrometric analysis)
- Mechanical properties (tensile, yield, elongation, hardness)
- Heat / lot / cast number for full traceability
- Applicable alloy standard (EN AW-5083 or EN AW-7021)
- Temper designation (O3, T79, etc.)
DIN EN ISO 9001:2015
The ISO 9001:2015 certification covers the quality management system of GLEICH Aluminiumwerk GmbH & Co. KG, Germany, the entity that manufactures G.AL® plates. It encompasses raw material sourcing, casting, heat treatment, precision sawing, dimensional inspection, packaging, and dispatch.
GLEICH Aluminum Canada Inc. is an authorized distributor of G.AL® products. The ISO 9001 certification referenced is held by the manufacturing entity in Germany; it does not extend to GCA's distribution activities. Certificates are available on request.
Applicable material standards
